When Robert Spiller's first mystery was released, it started as YA but was then reclassified adult. I suspect it's now considered a crossover novel since so many of the characters are high school students.Patricia Stolteyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17192369425956406122noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1689704930820315029.post-77667981109357608092010-10-26T09:36:31.981-07:002010-10-26T09:36:31.981-07:00I think there's a ton of uncertainty out there...I think there's a ton of uncertainty out there in regards to the teen/tweens division. Interestingly enough, from what I see at the school I work at, it seems that it makes more of difference pre-publication than after the fact. I don't see kids choosing books based upon the things that define teen/tween. (age of protag, topics/situations, etc.) I think they're more concerned if the book has a vampire, or if it's about sports, or if it has any good fight scenes (boys), etc.

Guess I'm saying that they seem to use broad genre definitions more than age-appropriate indicators.

Nice post, Kay!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00273059558675234923noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1689704930820315029.post-62147814169355397892010-10-26T09:30:34.205-07:002010-10-26T09:30:34.205-07:00So much information here!
